🌻 Privacy Policy

Last updated: [10/23/2025]

At Henchy Family Gardens, your privacy matters as much as your growth — both in the garden and in life.
This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we keep it safe.

Who We Are

Our website address is: https://homepage6108.live-website.com.
We’re a family-grown creative brand sharing stories, seeds, and inspiration through our Henchy Family Gardens community.

Comments

When you leave a comment on our site, we collect the information shown in the comment form, as well as your IP address and browser type to help detect spam.

An anonymized version of your email address (called a hash) may be shared with the Gravatar service to display your profile picture.
You can review their privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.

Once your comment is approved, your profile image is visible to the public next to your comment.

Akismet Anti-Spam Service

We use the Akismet Anti-Spam service, provided by Automattic, to protect our site from spam.

When visitors leave comments, Akismet automatically collects information to help identify spam.
This typically includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and site URL, as well as other details the commenter provides — such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself.

You can learn more about how Automattic handles this data here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.

Media

If you upload images to the website, please avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS).
Visitors to the site can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

We use cookies (small files stored on your device) to improve your browsing experience.

  • If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience. These last for one year.
  • If you visit our login page, a temporary cookie checks whether your browser accepts cookies — it contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.
  • When you log in, we also set cookies to save your login information and display preferences. Login cookies last for two days, and screen option cookies for one year.
  • Selecting “Remember Me” keeps you logged in for two weeks. Logging out removes these cookies.
  • If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved with the post ID — it expires after one day.

You can delete or disable cookies anytime in your browser settings.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (like videos, images, or articles).
Embedded content behaves exactly as if you visited that other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interaction with their content if you have an account or are logged in to that site.

Who We Share Your Data With

If you request a password reset, your IP address may be included in the reset email.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

How Long We Retain Your Data

  • Comments and their metadata are stored indefinitely so we can recognize and approve future comments more efficiently.
  • For registered users, we store the personal information provided in their profile. You can view, edit, or delete your information anytime (except your username).
  • Website administrators can also access this information to maintain the website securely.

Your Rights Over Your Data

If you have an account or have left comments, you can request:

  • A copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • That we delete any personal data we have on file (except data required for legal or security reasons).

To make a request, email https://automattic.com/privacy/..

Where Your Data Is Sent: https://automattic.com/privacy/

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service, such as Akismet.

Our Promise

At Henchy Family Gardens, we nurture trust the same way we nurture our plants — with care, patience, and honesty.
Your information stays safe, private, and respected.
